Hi! I’m Karen McLean, a graphic designer, photographer and founder of creative design studio Karen Elizabeth Design. I currently study graphic design at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in Dundee. I am ambitious, dedicated, creative, love a challenge and always keen to learn new creative techniques to enhance my knowledge.
Before moving to Dundee, I graduated with a HND in Graphic Design for Print and New Media: Visual Communication from Glasgow Clyde College in Cardonald. Whilst at college I developed a good knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and After Effects. I have since advanced my understanding of these programs at university.
Having grown up in rural Stirlingshire, nature is one of my biggest inspirations particularly when it comes to incorporating pattern and texture into my work. I am particularly passionate about simplistic and minimalistic design influenced by geometric shapes and patterns. The strong lines and forms found throughout architecture are also another major influence on my work.
