I created a community owned gin brand for the village of Buchlyvie, near Stirling, to encourage more people to stop and spend time in the village whilst giving the community something to be proud of. The brand takes inspiration from the famous Clydesdale horse – The Baron O’ Buchlyvie – who was bred by a local farmer in 1900. Heavy horses like the Baron were frequently bred by local farmers to help them work the land more efficiently before mechanisation. Whilst the horses are no longer required, farming is still at the heart of this community. The brand reflects the community spirit that is still prevalent in rural communities and will donate it’s profits to be used to benefit the village.
